A very intelligent cohort of women (one a fan of mine) has embarked on something wonderful: a zine of all kinds of stuff called
Feminspire: Where Women Make Media. There are articles on, among others, pop culture, the internet, beauty, the news, social science, politics, relationships, movies, college, and more. I read a very thought-provoking article about
free speech and the Chick-fil-A mess, another about
actresses handling stupid interview questions, and the
gut-knotting issue of sex-selective abortion and the failure of laws against it.
This is a very smart, very fun (in the right places) zine. Check it out. I think you'll like it--I do.
