You know when you've had enough winter?

aye aye
When you see a story entry on the Interwebs--"Day's Best Temperature: 73 Degrees"--and you think, "Fucker."

Mind, I'm not normally one of those people who complains about winter. I knew what I was doing when I moved to Syracuse. But we got about 18 inches of snow over the last two days (my excavation guy is getting rich off me this winter), with single-digit temperatures at night, and the day temperatures are none too swell, and it's mid-March, and I am feeling downright surly, and I can't even be happy that I am not alone.

I'm SO with you. I've lived with upstate NY winters my whole life, but this one...OY.

We missed out on most of the snow (yay!) but still went from 40 to zero to 20 to tomorrow's projected 38 (boo!) with rain and ice and a little snow to cover the ice. For someone with fibromylgia, you might as well just run me over with a bus and have done with it. Can I have the next book now, please?

Theoretical spring (i.e. the spring equinox, which I celebrate) is only 8 days off. Liars.

Hang in there.

I'm very ready for winter to take a long hike.

But this sums up my feelings (and I'm sure yours!) quite nicely.

Tuesday, it was 55 degrees in Chicago, and the whole city had a party.

Wednesday morning, it was 15 degrees, and there was 6 inches of snow. Cue grumpiness.

Come to visit us in sunny CA. We'd love to have you.

lol. With your icon, it comes across as rubbing it in just a wee bit. Though I do second the invitation.

Um. I only have the one icon, not sure what that has to do with it? The invitation is sincere. With the rent/costs I pay for the privilege of living where I do, I have to depend on visitors for fun, because i sure can't travel.

Oh, dear. I was trying for humour (hence the lol), which I guess fell flat when translated to the written word. It was a bit of a tease about how you were pointing out our SoCal warmth while your avatar was grinning. I certainly wasn't trying to question your sincerity.

"Come to visit us in sunny CA. We'd love to have you."

Thanks, but I'd just have to dig the airplanes out. And I can only work on EXILE if I'm frozen to the desk by the end of the day.

Down around Albany we've been getting off easy the last few years. My kids can barely remember the last winter like this. We've been getting either snow OR the bitter cold; this combination is wearing on everyone. Tonight my husband pointed out that we only have seven more days of winter, and I had to wonder… has anyone told that to winter yet?

Hopefully this last storm system was the last that NY will see this winter and it'll warm up from here and melt all the snow!!

We've all had it lucky of late. I would have appreciated some warning! And I think Ralph the Weather Angel needs clean up his act, pronto!

It was probably 80 here today. But I'd rather have freezing rain or snow because I like to be able to grow vegetables and take showers.

Here in New Mexico, we'd gladly trade with you. Most of the state (except in the high mountains) has had probably about 0.5 inches of rain for the entire year, and it's felt like spring since the first of February. The fires this year are going to be terrible!

Believe me, I would hate that every bit as much as this, and would love an equitable share with you folks.

Snow and ice and winter are EVIL.

"Snow and ice and winter are EVIL."

In moderation, or when you knew that's what you were moving into (29 years of plunging into New York's streetcorner icysludgewater lagoons up to my knees is enough), it's acceptable. The lagoons are an advertisement for double pneumonia.

But this? Our doctors are seeing a rise in visits due to coughs and colds related to the dryness and the cold. Tim's COPD flared up for the very first time. I had an allergic breakout in my eyelids and I am not allergic to anything; my eyedoctor has been seeing cases like this because of the farging weather! By Thor's Hammer, enough!

This Winter is fired. With extreme prejudice.

If I coulda terminated it with extreme prejudice a month ago I woulda. I'm tired of the glaciers on my roof calving icebergs while I'm trying to write.

Its too bad that you can't make it to Australia, at the moment its sitting around the high 20s (°C), by the time we get to April, you might even be able to deal with it. :)

This Utica-born, NC-dwelling person is also tired of "winter":
A. If it's going to be this cold, give me snow!
B. I think Mother Nature's going through menopause--it was sunny and 77 on Monday, and *24* on Wednesday night. My poor plants don't know whether to sh*t or go blind.

Yeah, we're getting the temperature bounces, too. Great for catching colds and general malaise. 8-/
